Saying Goodbye to 2016

This year has by far been the most transformative year of my life. In February, I took a wild leap of faith.

At the time it felt like a wild leap of desperation.

It turned out that it was the beginning of a truly amazing adventure. Not just because I was traipsing through the Rockies exploring to my hearts content, but because it changed who I was on a fundamental level.

I changed who I was on a fundamental level.

I learned what it meant to be kind to myself. To open myself up to new opportunities, new experiences, and new friends. I let myself be adventurous without a cause, and I spent every spare moment immersing myself in the wonders of the mountains and forging new friendships, creating new memories.

As the year drew to a close, I knew it was time to move on. Even though it killed me to leave the mountains I knew something bigger was on the horizon. I headed home to spend the holidays with my family, and I still wasn't entirely sure which path I would take for my future.

Turns out, the path was already laid out for me. With a lot of hard work, a little bit of being at the right place at the right time, and a few puzzle pieces clicking into place, I woke up one morning and realized I had accomplished something that has been on my bucket list for a very long time.

In less than three weeks, I will be on a plane to London, England. I have secured a job, and all that is left is to find a place to live. For the next two years I will call the United Kingdom home and I'm hoping even more adventures and exploring will be in my near future.

Thank you to everyone I have met this year. To the friends that have supported me through everything, to my family for understanding that I have to do this. 2016 has been the best year of my life, and 2017 is looking pretty damn bright.

Lots of love,

Kenzie
